  • Country Stars Jam With Solana
    Faith Hill

Faith Hill, Tim McGraw, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams Jr. are among the country music stars Solana Productions taped this summer for the Great American Country cable channel. Solana was backstage with Hill and her husband McGraw at the Pantages Theater in Los Angeles for the opening of her summer tour. Our cameras rolled as Haggard received a lifetime achievement award from the Country Music Association at his performance in Anaheim, California. Solana also shot behind the scenes of Hank Williams Jr.’s opening music video for “Monday Night Football.”

    Solana Goes High-Definition!
    HDNet Badge

Solana Productions has been named West Coast bureau for HD Net, the high-definition channel founded by multi-millionaire businessman Mark Cuban. Shoots this summer have ranged from hula dancing in Hawaii to a grilled cheese-eating contest to the San Diego mayor’s race.

    Solana Acquires New Cameras
    Sony 900 HD

Solana Productions has acquired two video cameras to serve its ever-expanding client list. Our new Sony high-def camera is constantly busy. Our new Panasonic 24P camera provides the film-like look preferred by Paramount TV’s “The Insider.”

Solana also has two D-600 Betacams and several DV cams. We've also recently acquired a camera jib to spice up those mundane b-rolls segments.

Solana Goes to the Races with Costner
    kevin costner

Solana Productions was off and running with Kevin Costner at the Del Mar Racetrack for an exclusive two-camera shoot to promote his new documentary about legendary jockey Laffit Pincay.

Solana videotaped Costner meeting Pincay, racing’s all-time winningest jockey, in the Paddock at Del Mar. The two then watched the feature race, and Kevin presented the Sorrento Stakes Trophy in the Winner’s Circle. Afterward, Solana shot a two- camera interview with Costner for Paramount TV’s “The Insider” from the patio of the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club Executive Offices.

Costner is narrator of the documentary, “Laffit Pincay: All About Winning,” which is directed by his longtime friend and “Dances With Wolves” collaborator Jim Wilson.
