Semper Fi-ghting With "The Expendables"

July 26, 2010

Emmy Award Winning San Diego Video Production

It doesn't get more badass than this -- Sylvester Stallone and his tough-guy co-stars from "The Expendables" joining forces with the Marines at Camp Pendleton! This San Diego video production was actually the premiere of the new action movie, held at the 1,300-seat theater on the Marine base in Oceanside. Our San Diego video crew nabbed a TV exclusive for "Entertainment Tonight" as Stallone pulled up to a cheering crowd of Marines and their families in a Humvee. Also arriving in Humvees -- co-stars Terry Crews, "Stone Cold" Steve Austin and Randy Couture, a six-year military veteran. The crew stayed up close with the stars, grabbing tons of memorable moments as Stallone and the boys signed autographs, posed for pictures and high-fived Marines. Inside the theater, we rolled as "The Expendables" bolted down the carpet to thunderous applause and introduced their new film, which opens Aug. 13. Our footage aired on "ET" Monday, July 26, and was featured on the show's website, www.etonline.com.

Keeping Up With Kathy Griffin

July 18, 2010

Emmy Award Winning San Diego Video Production

We couldn't have asked for a better gig than covering Kathy Griffin's book-signing for "Entertainment Tonight!" From start to finish, this San Diego video production was one belly laugh after another as Kathy lamented the engagement of her "My Life on the D-List" boy-toy Levi Johnston, and had a field day with Mel Gibson's phone recordings. The energetic comedian popped into Border's Books with her mom Maggie Griffin to promote Maggie's new book, Tip It! -- and sign copies of her own best-seller, Official Book Club Selection. My San Diego video crew and I squeezed in with the crowd of about 300 that crammed the bookstore to see and hear Kathy in person. And she didn't disappoint -- signing and posing for every last person!

Solana Productions Shoots Exclusive Jerry Lewis Interview

A headline-grabbing TV interview with Jerry Lewis, in which the legendary entertainer talked openly about being detained last month for carrying a gun in his luggage, was videotaped by Solana Productions, Inc.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) August 21, 2008 -- A headline-grabbing TV interview with Jerry Lewis, in which the legendary entertainer talked openly about being detained last month for carrying a gun in his luggage, was videotaped by Solana Productions, Inc.(www.SolanaProductions.com)

The beloved comedian was cited and fined after an airport security guard in Las Vegas discovered the weapon on July 25. In the TV interview, recorded Aug. 13 aboard Lewis' yacht in San Diego, he explained that the .22-caliber handgun was a gift he received last year following his annual Muscular Dystrophy telethon.

"I had a gun in my carrying case," Lewis said. "Which was given to me by a marvelous engraver. And last year at the end of the '07 telethon, he presented me with this gorgeous gift. I put it in that traveling case and I hadn't traveled since that telethon until that day."

The weapon was discovered when Lewis was on his way to Michigan with his road manager.

Lewis spoke exclusively with correspondent Jann Carl of TV's "Entertainment Tonight." The interview aired Aug. 14 and made headlines around the world.

A six-person crew from Solana Productions, Inc., recorded the interview in high definition with two state-of-the-art Sony XD high definition video cameras. The shoot also entailed an intricate lighting set-up because it was shot midday inside a covered deck on Lewis' luxury yacht, which is docked in San Diego Bay. Due to the comedian's demanding schedule, the crew was required to complete the set-up in less than 90 minutes.

In the second part of his interview, which aired Aug. 15, Lewis spoke at length about his upcoming Labor Day Muscular Dystrophy Telethon - now in its 43rd year. The live event begins at 9 p.m. EDT on Sunday, Aug. 31 and runs 21 and ½ hours.

The star-studded show will also include an online auction that begins Aug. 21. To date, Lewis has raised more than $2 billion toward a cure for the disease.
